General Information

It is a FEDERAL OFFENSE to damage or tamper with any part of a public water system.
This  company will cooperate with Federal, State and local authorities to  prosecute any person found tampering with any of its equipment.

If  you see someone near the water reservoirs, buildings or the wells,  please take some time to ask the person who they are and what they are  doing, our company personnel will have identification. But if you feel  it is not safe to do so please try to get a description of the  person(s), vehicles, and note the license number(s) of any vehicles in  the area.

In either case, please call 911 and/or this company at  the emergency number (802-338-0051) and report the activity. We have  security measures in place to prevent vandalism but additional help from  you may prevent threats to your drinking water supply.

If you see someone that is obviously doing harm to the water system please call 911 immediately and then contact this company.

Meter Reading and Billing Schedule

Water meters are read on a quarterly basis; on or about the first of January, April, July and October.

Bills  are mailed out within a few days after the meter reading and are due  immediately upon receipt. A late fee of 1.5% per month will be added to  the unpaid balance after 30 days.

Water meters and remote readers  are the property of Vermont Water Utilities, Inc. (VWUI). It is illegal  to tamper with them or break the seals. If you need to remove a meter  for any reason you must contact us and we will do this safely and  legally.

Water Rates

New rates  were approved by the Public Utility Commission on September 20, 2022.  The rates became effective with service rendered as of October 01, 2022.

The rates as approved by the Public Service Board and currently in effect are:
Basic quarterly service: $154.50
Metered rate: $3.496 per 1,000 gallons used.
Electronic payment surcharge: 1.9% + $0.10

For  the amount of water that the average customer uses (about 12,000  gallons per quarter) this will mean that the bill would be about  $191.11per quarter year.
